Following Thursday's guilty verdict handed down by the 12-person Manhattan jury, the Trump campaign raised a record-breaking amount of cash from small-dollar donors nationwide who used their wallets to voice their support for the presumptive GOP nominee. The demand to donate to the 45th president was so great that the donation website crashed due to the influx of traffic.
"Today, the Trump campaign announced a record-shattering small-dollar fundraising haul following the sham Biden Trial verdict totaling $34.8 million – nearly double the biggest day ever recorded for the Trump campaign on the WinRed platform," the campaign wrote on X, adding, "Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrats with their election interference political witch hunt have awakened the MAGA movement like never before."
Trump campaign advisors Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita stated that nearly 30 percent of donors on Thursday evening were first-time givers. "From just minutes after the sham trial verdict was announced, our digital fundraising system was overwhelmed with support, and despite temporary delays online because of the amount of traffic, President Trump raised $34.8 million dollars from small-dollar donors," they said. "Not only was the amount historic, but 29.7 percent of yesterday's donors were brand new donors to the WinRed platform. President Trump and our campaign are immensely grateful for this outpouring of support from patriots across our country. President Trump is fighting to save our nation, and November 5th is the day Americans will deliver the real verdict."
After Trump's conviction, the campaign donation page was remodeled to declare that Trump had become a "political prisoner" and that he would "never surrender" following the "rigged political witch hunt" that took place in the Manhattan courtroom.
"They've raided my home, arrested me, took my mugshot, AND NOW THEY'VE JUST CONVICTED ME!" the donation page reads. "Crooked Joe Biden needs to get the message - right here, right now - that his chances of a 2nd term END TODAY! BUT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, OUR IMMEDIATE PUSHBACK MUST BE SO MASSIVE IT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY! WE MUST MAKE JOE BIDEN REGRET EVER COMING AFTER US!"
As previously reported by the DC Enquier, the jury found Trump guilty on each of the 34 counts of falsifying business records. Following the verdict, Trump told the press that he would continue to fight in the courts to achieve justice and continued to say that the trial against him was election interference. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's sentencing hearing for July 11th, just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
