Trump Dominates In New State Poll As He Overtakes Biden Nationally

A new poll released on Friday by Georgia University showed 45th President and leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump dominating the Republican competition in Georgia.

The poll, conducted from April 2 to April 12, polled 983 likely Republican voters in the Peach State.

The findings cement Trump as the favorite in the state with him securing 51 percent support amongst respondents. Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump’s potential chief rival in the primary, came in second place with 30 percent support.

Meanwhile, other candidates secured minimal support with former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley gaining four percent support, former Vice President Mike Pence and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) having two percent support, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo having one percent support.

Meanwhile in a head-to-head matchup between Trump and DeSantis, the 45th president still reigns supreme with 51 percent support compared to DeSantis’ 41 percent.

As Trump once again shows that he is dominating the Republican competition in the primaries, all eyes turn to how he would perform in a rematch with President Joe Biden.

According to recent polling from RealClearPolitics, Trump has 44.1 percent support compared to Biden’s 42.4 percent, giving Trump an advantage of 1.7 percent nationally.

President Biden currently has an approval rating of 43.2 percent amongst the general public, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Making matters worse for the 80-year-old president, a recent poll from CNN found that less than a third of voters, 32 percent, want to see President Biden occupy the White House in 2025 with 67 percent saying they do not want Biden in for another four-year term, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

With Biden’s numbers on the downturn and Trump continuing to show his strength, these numbers are convincing Republican primary voters that Trump can once again face off with Biden and secure a second term in the White House.
