The 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump arrived in his ancestral Scotland, receiving a welcome complete with bagpipers playing on the Aberdeen tarmac as he stepped off of Trump Force One. Trump is visiting his properties, including the Trump International in nearby Aberdeenshire, to cut the ribbon at his upcoming “spectacular” second golf course at the Menie Estate about a half-mile away.
Traveling with his son Eric Trump, the Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions, the former president was “greeted by two pipers, a red carpet and a 10-vehicle motorcade at Aberdeen International Airport,” according to The Associated Press.
“It’s great to be home — this was the home of my mother,” Trump said per the AP.
According to The Independent, after Trump finishes in Scotland, he’ll be back aboard his personal plane bound for the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland.
Trump posted his plans ahead of time to Truth Social on Sunday, writing,
“Will be leaving for Scotland & Ireland soon in order to see and inspect my great properties there. The Golf Courses and Hotels are among the Greatest in the World – Turnberry and Aberdeen, in Scotland, and Doonbeg, in Ireland. Will be meeting with many wonderful friends, and cutting a ribbon for a new and SPECTACULAR Second Course in Aberdeen. Very exciting despite the fact that it is “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” that is on my mind, in fact, America will be GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!”
The team at the Trump International welcomed the 45th Presidnet in style.

First Minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf, leader of the radical leftist Scottish National Party, declined to meet with Trump citing establishment media reports of controversial statements he made regarding Muslims. “I would find it difficult, I have to say, to meet with him without raising the significance of concerns I have of the remarks that he’s made in the past.”
Yousaf has gained a notorious reputation for suppressing free speech through his Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Bill of 2020 which The BBC reported in 2020 “could devastate legitimacy of police.”
