President Trump Vows To Bring Peace To Ukraine 'Before I Get To The White House' - 'I Want To See It Settled'

In a recent interview with Breitbart News, Republican nominee Donald Trump explained that he would work to ensure that the war in Ukraine was ended even before he was inaugurated for a second term on January 20, 2025. Trump, who developed a relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his first term, had a recent phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the ongoing conflict and its potential resolution.

“I want to see it settled. I want to get it done," Trump said about the destructive conflict. “I know both heads of the countries. I know President Putin very well. I want to see the death stopping. There’s death, and there’s destruction. They are destroying the whole fabric of a certain part of the world. I want to get it negotiated and get it done.”

Trump explained that he believed that Vice President Kamala Harris would lead the war into World War III due to her incompetence. “I don’t think she has any clue. She wouldn’t handle it at all. I don’t think she’d do anything," the 45th president told Breitbart. "I think it would just go on, and millions of people will die. It could evolve into a World War also. She’s got no capability to get it done. I want to get it done. I’ve always had a very good relationship with both men, and I think I’m in a very good position. It would have been easier to get done—it would have never started. If I were there, it would have never started.”

The president also emphasized that he wanted to negotiate peace to the conflict between his election on November 5 and his inauguration two and a half months later. “You look at the heritage of the country—the cities are mostly knocked down. They’re flattened," Trump said about the Ukrainian cities that have endured conflict for over two years. "They’re just totally flattened. Have you ever seen some of these cities? There’s not a building standing. The country has been devastated. So I want to get it solved, and I will be able to get it solved. And I’d like to do it before I get to the White House after I’m president-elect.”

Trump's comments about the end of the war in Ukraine come as the Ukrainian military launched an auspicious assault into Russian territory in the Kursk region. The incursion marks the first time that the Ukrainian military has occupied a portion of Russian terrority as they have continued to fight a defensive war for control of Eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
