'Tucker Will Not Be Silenced By Anyone': Tucker Carlson Has Exciting Plans For The Future

New reports out Thursday have indicated that co-founder of The Daily Caller and former Fox News prime-time host Tucker Carlson is gathering funds to start up a new media endeavor following the wildly successful launch of 'Tucker on Twitter'.

Puck News' Dylan Byers revealed that after the eight remaining members of Tucker's team were handed their metaphorical hats by Fox News, many have instead opted to continue their work with Carlson.

Byers observed,

"It’s increasingly possible that the Twitter show is a top-of-funnel play for other things Tucker Carlson may have cooking."

He added, "In fact, I am told he is raising capital to launch a new company that may yet prove more influential.” Noting, "Tucker’s new media play might – if executed adroitly – serve as a paradigm for a generation of TV news personalities with huge followings and fandoms who remain marooned to their desks amid shrinking audiences."

According to The Daily Caller News Foundation,

"Carlson is reportedly fundraising for the venture with a “vast majority” of his former Fox News staff set to join him."

Reports that Carlson is, in fact, seeking investors were repeated by The Wrap's Eileen AJ Connelly and The Daily Beast's Dan Ladden-Hall.

With Carlson's twice-weekly monologues setting the standard for a successful Twitter video production hitting audiences in the high millions every week, it's hardly a stretch that this initial outing could be a dress rehearsal for a massive media re-launch in spite of Fox News' ongoing attempt to gag the host under a non-compete clause.

Axios reported on June 12th that Fox News sent the host a cease-and-desist letter with the heading "NOT FOR PUBLICATION," which almost immediately found its way to news desks around the world. The outlet noted that Carlson allegedly continues to be paid by Fox and the company is insisting that he is still under exclusive contract until the end of 2024, effectively silencing him for the duration of the upcoming presidential election.

In a statement to Axios, Attorney Harmeet Dhillon who is representing Carlson with Bryan Freedman, said: "Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations." She continued, "Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election."

"Tucker will not be silenced by anyone," she said. "He is a singularly important voice on matters of public interest in our country, and will remain so."
