On Friday, Tucker Carlson started his fourth interview with former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (R-SC) during the FAMiLY Leadership Summit.
The summit, which can be viewed here, will be hosting multiple GOP presidential candidates including Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), former Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC), Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), former Vice President Mike Pence (R-IN), Vivek Ramaswamy, and other candidates. Tucker Carlson will be interviewing each of them.
The interview began with Tucker asking about election integrity and the 2020 election. When asked about what Haley thinks about Joe Biden getting 81,000,000 votes, the former governor explained that she does not want such a record to take place in 2024.
Haley emphasized that voters should have to show a picture ID in order to protect the integrity of America's elections. "We need to make sure that we are doing what we are supposed to," Haley said, adding that the secretary of state in various localities changed rules during the Covid-19 pandemic thus leading to people losing faith in the election system.
Haley then said that there were irregularities in the 2020 election and that mail-in ballots were rampant. She did say, however, that those irregularities were not enough for Trump to have won the election.
She then went on to explain how under her watch in South Carolina, she took action to secure her state's elections. She also said that she is in favor of paper ballots and that other governors should pursue that.
The conversation then turned to the impact of how bureaucracies and agencies impacted the 2020 election with the former South Carolina governor explaining that during her term she made sure to replace every head of the state agencies.
"I put people in every agency... to clean it up," she explained, adding that you had to either tweak or gut agencies. "You can't just replace the person at the front, you have to look into gutting those agencies and getting rid of the senior management."
The former UN Ambassador then gave an anecdote of her time at the UN where a staffer, revealed to be John Kerry's sister, leaked information about Haley. The presidential hopeful explained that she then forced her out to ensure that the behavior stopped.
The candidate then explained that under her administration, she plans to meet with state governors once every quarter in order to emphasize change on the state level rather than the federal.
Carlson then turned the conversation to the plaque of homelessness. Haley explained that Biden's economic policies have led to considerable homelessness in the country, with Haley adding that the mental health crisis exacerbates the issue. Haley explained that telehealth would be essential to solving the issue, however, she then went on to argue that America has a broken healthcare system, saying, "Doctors are never judged on the outcomes."
The discussion then turned to climate change where Haley explained that a future president needs to talk with China and India about their carbon emissions and the impact that it is having on the Earth's climate.
When asked if climate change is caused by human action and whether it can be slowed down by change, Haley admitted that she didn't know. She did, however, emphasize that under her administration, she would bring back energy independence.
After this, the conversation turned to the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline, with Carlson suggesting that the Biden administration was behind the destruction. Haley said she didn't know who was behind the bombing. The conversation then drifted to the discovery of cocaine at the White House with Haley explaining that she had been to that area of the White House. She argued that it was a cover-up by the White House.
Carlson then argued that the GOP should be dominating in 2024 but that's not the case. Haley argued that the problems that the country is facing are not just caused by Democrats but by Republicans as well. She explained that Americans are suffering financially while leaders in Congress are spending taxpayer money irresponsibly.
Haley then concluded the interview by praising some members of Congress who are doing good work in Congress. "This is about having a good conservative agenda so all of a sudden government understands the value of a dollar," Haley said about electing the right people to office.
The presidential hopeful then ended the interview by saying that the UFO and JFK files should be declassified. She also explained that she wants to bring back a country rooted in American values, saying, "We've got a country to save."
