JD Vance: 'Kamala Harris Is Going To Walk Us Right Into Nuclear War'

On Wednesday, 45th President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) held a campaign rally in Asheboro, North Carolina, at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame as the GOP ticket fights to keep the state in Republican hands in an increasingly competitive environment. The event focused largely on foreign policy and saw multiple attacks on the Biden-Harris record, including the costly withdrawal from Afghanistan, the war in Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza, and the global instability caused by a lack of leadership in Washington, D.C.

Vice presidential candidate JD Vance took the stage at the Asheboro rally to take aim at Harris' foreign policy promises and assert that a Harris presidency would lead to nuclear war. "It's hard to make sense of Kamala Harris' foreign policy, especially when she explains it like a third grader who didn't study for a class presentation," Vance said. "It means something to have a president who's not afraid to go into hostile territories, tell a few jokes, and actually engage in diplomacy. That preserves peace. While all these Democrats lied about Donald Trump being the candidate of nuclear war, Donald Trump is the person who prevented nuclear war, and if we're not careful, Kamala Harris is going to walk us right into nuclear war. We ought to kick her out and not give her a promotion to president of the United States."

He then turned his remarks to the global failures of the Biden-Harris administration, with Vance noting that Harris took responsibility for the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan roughly three years ago. "Remember, she bragged on CNN about playing a key role in the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Now, that was before 13 innocent service members died at the Kabul airport," Vance said. "That was about three years ago to the day. That was before the world witnessed panicked civilians cling to the side of retreating American airplanes. And that was before they gave the Taliban billions of dollars, paid for by you, of helicopters, planes, humvees, and artilleries. It was the worst humiliation this country has endured since the fall of Saigon."

Vance also condemned President Biden and Vice President Harris for failing to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, adding that Trump was able to keep the Russian leader in check. "Under Kamala Harris, Putin invaded Ukraine. Under Donald Trump, Putin didn't do a damn thing -- and that's because of strong leadership," he explained to the crowd.

Vice President Kamala Harris has an abysmal foreign policy record that saw America's enemies grow stronger and the United States' influence in the world be greatly diminished. Under President Trump, the United States kept Russia in check, isolated Iran, held tense negotiations with North Korea, created peace in the Middle East with the Abraham Accords, and engaged in economic warfare with China to protect American businesses and consumers. Trump's foreign policy successes paved the way for a more peaceful world, yet the Biden-Harris administration's lack of leadership has led to destabilization over the past three and a half years, and voters should remember that when heading to the ballot box on November 5.
