On Monday, 45th President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to condemn Vice President Kamala Harris for campaigning with former Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) for a town hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and to reiterate his anti-war foreign policy record. The event comes as Cheney ramps up her events with Harris in an attempt to convince anti-Trump and moderate Republicans to vote for the Democratic presidential nominee.
"Arab Voters are very upset that Comrade Kamala Harris, the Worst Vice President in the History of the United States and a Low IQ individual, is campaigning with 'dumb as a rock' War Hawk, Liz Cheney, who, like her father, the man that pushed Bush to ridiculously go to War in the Middle East, also wants to go to War with every Muslim Country known to mankind," Trump wrote. "Remember, Liz Cheney lost her Congressional Seat by the LARGEST margin, 40%, in History for a sitting Congressperson. If Kamala gets four more years, the Middle East will spend the next four decades going up in flames, and your kids will be going off to War, maybe even a Third World War, something that will never happen with President Donald J. Trump in charge. For our Country's sake, and for your kids, Vote Trump for PEACE!"
During the town hall meeting in the Philadelphia suburbs, Cheney, a former Republican lawmaker who was overwhelmingly defeated in the 2022 Wyoming Republican primary, claimed that world leaders would manipulate Trump. "Our adversaries know that they can play Donald Trump," she said. "And we cannot afford to take that risk." Despite Cheney's efforts to convince Republicans to back Vice President Harris, GOP voters overwhelmingly support President Trump in his presidential bid, and independent voters are breaking for the former president. In addition, Arab voters have increasingly put their support behind President Trump.
Last week, the mayor of the only Muslim-majority town in Michigan, Amer Ghalib, welcomed President Trump to the opening of a campaign office in Hamtramck and presented Trump with a framed certificate of appreciation. Trump has gained significant ground among Arab American voters as many reject the Harris-Walz ticket for their position on Israel and the ongoing war in Gaza. The Arab American community, particularly in the battleground state of Michigan, could decide who receives the state's 15 electoral votes.
