WATCH: Wanted LGBTQ+ Extremist Arrested by LA Sheriffs At Pride March - 'This Is Why We Don’t Like Cops At Pride'

Los Angeles County Sheriff's officers arrested 24-year-old Hunter Lee Darling known as Zodiac Rose at the WeHo Pride Festival on Saturday, according to reports. Along with Darling, Abby Nicole Thomas, 28, was apprehended while attempting to intervene in his arrest.

According to the LASD, Darling was arrested in connection to a robbery on April 19th. A statement from the department explained, "On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, a robbery occurred at the West Hollywood library. The suspect stole the victim’s cell phone. West Hollywood Station Detectives later identified the suspect as Hunter Lee Darling. On May 31, 2023, an arrest warrant for Suspect Darling was issued by a judge."

The Sheriff's office explained, "On Saturday, June 3, 2023, deputies saw Suspect Darling during a 'Pride Weekend' event. West Hollywood deputies arrested Suspect Darling and booked him at West Hollywood Station for robbery, vandalism, and battery. During Suspect Darling’s arrest, Abby Nicole Thomas, a friend of Suspect Darling’s, intervened and prevented the deputies from safely completing the arrest. Abby was arrested and booked for interfering and obstructing an arrest."

As reported by The Post Millennial, video of the alleged robbery was quickly discovered online appearing to show Darling stealing a man's cellphone and destroying it.

A video of Darling's arrest was posted by Jordan David on Twitter where David claimed the officers commented about the booth Darling and Abby were manning to which Darling replied, "This is why we don't like cops at Pride," alleging the arrest took place after.

David alleged in an update that Darling is being held on $100,000 bail, and that the charges were related to a protest at a Drag Queen Story Hour in April. Reportedly bail was posted for the two LGBTQ extremists early Monday.

According to journalist Jon Peltz, Mayor Sepi Shyne of West Hollywood called the images of the deputies arresting Darling and Thomas "alarming" in a statement.
Shyne wrote, "What I'm focused on - and what we're hearing about from the community - relates to how people are treated when they are being detained and how safe queer spaces are treated. It's deeply disconcerting to see images of anyone being held on the pavement surrounded by deputies in gear. It's even more alarming when this takes place in our safe LGBTQ+ spaces."

According to the city of West Hollywood's website, "Sepi Shyne made history in November 2020 when she was elected to the West Hollywood City Council. She became the first out LGBTQ Iranian elected anywhere globally and locally became the first woman of color elected to the West Hollywood City Council. Her election also ushered in West Hollywood’s first female-majority City Council. Shyne’s priorities include advocating for affordable housing, protecting renters and social service programs, social justice, small business revival, and bringing the people’s voices to West Hollywood City Hall."

Shyne is described as "an LGBTQ+ and civil rights leader for more than 20 years," who "has recruited and elevated women and people of color to leadership positions to create more diversity, inclusion, and equity."

The city of West Hollywood lacks its own police force and contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for law enforcement services for its population of over 34,000.
