On Tuesday, the executive directors of The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Reuters, and The Washington Post took part in a ‘Policy and The Press’ panel at Columbia’s Journalism School
During the panel, however, a courageous protester, Jose Vega, disrupted the event and went on a lengthy anti-war speech and particularly highlighted the recent investigation by Pulitzer prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh that claims that the United States blew up the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022 that transported natural gas from Russia to Germany.
“My friends and I confronted the executive editors for [The New York Times], [The Washington Post], [The LA Times], [Reuters] on their censorship of Seymour Hersh, Uhuru, Julian Assange, Tucker Carlson, Russiagate,” Vega wrote. “Then the Dean of Columbia and security pushed me to the ground and tried to silence me.”
Throughout Vega’s comments, he highlighted the efforts by the liberal newspapers to censor Seymour Hersh’s story, the details of which were previously reported on by the DC Enquirer.
“So shouldn’t we be talking about the Nordstream, since that’s the biggest story of the century,” he said, adding that the New York Times editor came out with a phony story to cover up Hersh’s story.
“All of you are executive editors of paper that broke, Pentagon, My-Lai, Watergate. Is this the same papers or not?” the protester asked. “I mean, is there anything you’ve gotten right in the last 20 years, or am I mistaken about that?”
“It’s just kind of funny. Iraq wrong, Syria wrong, Russiagate really wrong. Okay? I mean, the list goes on and on,” Vega said, adding that it took Discord leaks to uncover that Ukrainian President Zelensky was planning on bombing Moscow on the one year anniversary of the Ukraine invasion.
“Tucker Carlson ain’t no Symour Hersh, but he did something you guys are scared to do. Speak the truth and actually be critical of the war which is why he was actually fired Fox, because you are all cowards,” he said.
Vega went on to argue that the editors lack of action are inching the country closer to World War III.
The protester was later escorted out of the room by the security as he continued to await a response from the editors which seemingly did not come.
