Forty-fifth President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump promised to a crowd of cheering supporters during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday to “quickly settle” the war between Ukraine and Russia before he “even arrives at the Oval Office.”
“Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly,” Trump said.
“I will get the problem solved and I will get it solved in rapid order. It will take me no longer than one day. I know exactly what to say to each of them. I got along very well with them,” Trump added.
Trump also promised the Republican Party will “never” return to the “party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush.”
“But we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush,” Trump said.
Trump crushed any questions of him not being the leader of the Republican party yet again with a 42-point landslide lead in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) famous straw poll released on Saturday.
Trump came in first place, of course, with 62 percent. Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) came in second place with 20 percent, 42 points behind Trump.
Businessman Perry Johnson came in third place with five percent. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley came in fourth place with three percent. And the remaining candidates came in with 10% combined.
This comes after another poll, released on Tuesday, was conducted between February 23-27 and revealed Trump has a massive 16-point lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump has gained 8 percent since an earlier YouGov poll taken between February 2-6.
“GREAT POLL NUMBERS. LEADING BIDEN, DESANCTUS, AND ALL OTHERS BY A LOT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump posted on his successful social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday.
While Trump is speaking at CPAC, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, Republican candidate Nikki Haley, and more are scheduled to speak at the 2024 GOP annual donor retreat hosted by the Club for Growth, dubbed the Club for “NO” Growth by Trump, from March 2 to March 4 in Trump’s home area of Palm Beach, Florida.
With polls showing Trump in the lead amongst all potential Republican and Democrat challengers, any potential candidate will have an impossible battle if they attempt to usurp the favorite to win the 2024 nomination.
