On Friday, President Joe Biden decided to take tours of various local shops in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to discuss his economic agenda with voters, including his "Bidenomics" and "Investing in America" agenda. During his visit, however, the 81-year-old Biden was seen having multiple senior moments with a video showing him looking lost and telling voters that he works for the Senate.
At a local bike shop, President Biden could be seen being paraded around and being introduced to employees by the shop owner. Throughout the interaction, Biden seemed to be confused as to where to stand, which led to the shop owner directing him throughout the visit. At another visit to a coffee shop, President Biden, accompanied by Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), told employees, "My name's Joe Biden. I work for the government in the Senate." As Biden went from store to store visiting voters, he was heckled by bystanders, with one man yelling, "Loser."
As President Biden ramps up his 2024 campaign, his age will continue to play a major factor, as it is highlighted in the various gaffes and senior moments that plague the elderly Democrat. Biden's age is also impacting his approval rating, with his approval currently sitting at only 39 percent while his job disapproval is at 56.2 percent, a near-record high. In addition to an abysmal job approval by voters, 75 percent of respondents in a recent poll, including 65 percent of Democrats, said that Biden was too old to be president. In addition, only 39 percent of respondents said he was mentally sharp enough to occupy the White House, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll from September 2023.
If re-elected, by the time Biden begins his second term, he will be 82, and once he finishes another four years, by 2029, he will be 86. His age is already impacting him significantly both in his official duties and on the campaign trail. Another four years of Biden would likely result in a man who is a shadow of his former self as the most stressful job in the world takes its toll on his mental and physical health.
