WATCH: Brave Arizona Man Rescues Two Little Girls From Burning Car – 'Divine Intervention, No Doubt'

On Thursday night, a brave Arizona citizen rescued two young girls from a burning car in just the nick of time, with the car bursting into flames right after the save on a remote highway in the Arizona Navajo reservation.

The heroic man, Sam Heiler, told Fox News that he was driving to a Memorial Weekend getaway alongside his wife, Melissa, on the remote highway when the engine of the car directly in front of them caught fire. The Good Samaritan pulled his car over alongside the flaming vehicle.

Heiler had to get involved after the two parents of the children in the car exited the vehicle, closing their doors which caused all the car doors to lock as well for unknown reasons. The heroic man threw a rock through the front window, allowing him to break the glass and open the doors up front the inside.

"The parents were freaking out, screaming and punching the windows with their bare hands, both the back windows in front of the babies," Heiler stated, talking about the intense panic in the incident. "They had about 20 more seconds until the fire spread from the engine block to the cab. The girls were screaming, the parents were screaming, my wife was screaming—it was bad. When the fire hit the fuel tank it made a legitimate fireball explosion.”

Heiler’s wife, Melissa, stated that when the couple first witnessed the car begin to catch fire, Sam intended to keep driving past it. However, something compelled the couple to stop their car and help what would have otherwise been a tragedy in what Melissa Heiler called “divine intervention.”

The area where the car caught fire had no cell phone service, according to Heiler, but they were able to flag down another driver utilizing a glow stick. They asked the driver to call 911 once they regained cell service which was about 25 miles from the location of the incident.

The tribal police and fire department were able to eventually arrive on the scene, though Heiler noted that for hours following the incident spot fires were running through the forest.
