WATCH: 'Bully' Kevin McCarthy Allegedly Attacks Republican Who Ousted Him, Chase Ensues On Capitol Hill - He's 'So Pathetic'

On Tuesday, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy was caught attacking fellow GOP colleague Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who voted to oust McCarthy from his job last month, in the hallway of Capitol Hill after the GOP conference meeting, which led to a foot chase as Burchett chased after the Californian.

According to NPR congressional correspondent Claudia Grisales, during an interview with Burchett, McCarthy walked by and elbowed the Tennessee Republican in the kidneys, which caused the lawmaker to lunge forward and nearly hit the reporter. "Why'd you elbow me in the back, Kevin?" Burchett yelled after McCarthy. "Hey Kevin, you got any guts!?" Burchett then proceeded to chase after McCarthy and his detail through the halls of the Capitol building.

"Hey Kevin, why'd you walk behind me and elbow me in the back?" Burchett yelled at him during the chase. "I didn't elbow you in the back," McCarthy said in response, leading to Burchett yelling back, "You got no guts, you did so...the reporter said it right there, what kind of chicken move is that? You're pathetic, man, you are so pathetic." Burchett then gave up the chase and explained to Grisales that McCarthy was a "jerk" and that the attack was the first point of "communication" with McCarthy since the speakership fight.

According to Grisales, Burchett went on to tell her that McCarthy is "on a downhill spiral... he just, that was pretty gutless of him. I'm disappointed in his, in him." Burchett also explained McCarthy is seeking vengeance following his removal from the speakership, telling the NPR reporter, "He's got $17 million to work against me. And he's just a -- he should have kept his word. I think that just showed what he's about, and it's unfortunate."

"He's a bully with $17 million and a security detail. He's the type of guy when you're a kid who would throw a rock over the fence and run home and hide behind his momma's skirt. That's not the way we handle things in East Tennessee," Burchett explained in an interview with CNN after the incident. "I'm probably not going to do an ethics complaint on him. He's not worth it."
