WATCH: CNN Commentator Says Biden Had To Be 'Dragged Out By His Fingernails' After Being 'Bullied' Out Of The Race

On Monday, the first night of the Democratic National Convention, CNN Political Commentator Scott Jennings stated that President Joe Biden is giving his own eulogy at the convention after being dragged out of the presidential race by his fingernails by Democratic leadership. He also explained that Vice President Kamala Harris will have a hard time separating herself from the failures of the Biden administration, particularly the costly withdrawal from Afghanistan, Bidenomics, and the crisis at the southern border.

"Biden is known in his career as one of the best eulogy givers at funerals, and now they are making him give his own eulogy at this convention. I am anxious to see how they handle it," Jennings said. "He was bullied out of this race after 52 years of service to the Democratic Party, and it wasn't just about his age. He was unpopular. He was going to lose. It was Afghanistan. It was inflation. It was immigration. He had to be dragged out by the fingernails. I'm sorry he's not here in a happy moment."

"I know this yarn is being spun that he was popular and selfless — No. It's the opposite, and everyone knows it, and yet the Democrats are engaging in this theater of looking into cameras and saying it," he explained. "I am interested to see how they handle it tonight but also moving forward because what the Republicans will do is say, 'Look, this is Joe Biden's loyal lieutenant. The last person in the room on Afghanistan helped him on immigration, which you hate. Now, all of a sudden, proposing something about inflation when she hasn't for three and a half years.' She will be stuck with him for the election, and will the voters buy that she had nothing to do with any of it."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told CNN that she had to take one for the team by being the leader of the anti-Biden movement and forcing him out of the race last month. "Sometimes you just have to take a punch for the children," Pelosi told CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. "I had to do what I had to do. He made the decision for the country. My concern was not about the president. It was about his campaign. As he has seen the exuberance, the excitement that has come forth in our country."

Jennings struck at the harsh reality of the first night of the DNC that Democrats are attempting to honor President Joe Biden after committing an unprecedentedly ruthless campaign to oust him from the presidential race. With 52 years of political service to the Democratic Party, Biden has received one of the least honorable sendoffs of any politician in the modern Democratic Party. For him, the first night of the DNC represents the end of his political career. It serves as a reminder that the Democratic Party will prioritize the needs of its electoral success over any one person.
