On Monday, Rep. Katie Porter, (D-CA), who is currently running to fill Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat in California, humiliated herself on ABC’s ‘The View’ when she blamed her bad reputation that has developed over many years on sexism.
Porter has been known to have anger issues which played out most noticeably in divorce filings from her failed marriage, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.
Porter and her husband divorced in 2013 but decided to stay in the same home where the relationship deteriorated. It broke down so much that they both ended up filing restraining orders against each other despite raising school-aged children.
Hoffman was a stay-at-home dad and throughout the divorce filing, he explains that Porter would get extremely angry saying things like “You f***ing idiot!” and “You’re f***ing incompetent.”
Other outbursts of anger include Porter throwing hot mashed potatoes onto Hoffman’s head thus leaving burns after she yelled at her husband for not making the food correctly. “She then took the ceramic bowl of steaming hot potatoes and dumped it on my head, burning my scalp,” the divorce filing explained.
One particular episode took place when Porter returned home to an unclean house leading her to slam a glass coffee pot on the counter while yelling, “This house is a mess! You f***ing slob! You’re incompetent! What the f*** do you do all day!” with her children in the room.

Porter has repeatedly denied the accusations, particularly during her previous campaigns for House, and said that she was a victim of abuse by her husband.
Similar unpleasant behavior has been seen in her work life as well with the representative firing a House staffer in 2020 she was exposed to Covid-19 as evidenced by a text exchange. This has led to accusations of her creating a toxic workplace within her office.
In response to this reputation, Porter said that sexism is to blame saying, “I am incredibly proud of my staff. The book is actually dedicated to my staff and my volunteers,” she said in reference to her newly released titled, ‘I SWEAR: Politics Is Messier Than My Minivan’.
“They are really the ones leading the way. For every viral moment you see,” she continued. “For every whiteboard that I get the words spelled correctly and I know what I’m talking about, there are a ton of amazing people behind me and helping me. And I’m so grateful for them.”
“You know I think we see, and I saw this as a professor certainly, female professors, particularly women of color, get much more worse teacher evaluations even when all the professional evaluations are the same,” she claimed, adding, “So we see this again and again. Lots of these so-called bad bosses are women and disproportionately women of color.”
It seems like once again Porter is attempting to obfuscate the very valid criticisms of her personal behavior and instead fall back on the left’s favorite game of blaming sexism and racism for their faults.
