On Thursday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was confronted by Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn, who asked the radical Democrat if she condemned recent comments made by some of her constituents in Dearborn, Michigan, that called for death to America. Despite the repulsive remarks, Tlaib refused to condemn the comments, simply telling the Fox reporter that she refused to speak to the network.
During Al-Quds Day, the last Friday of Ramadan used to highlight Palestinian resistance, several Muslim men shouted "death to America" as activist Tarek Bazzi said that the United States was one of the "most rotten countries" and that Israel is ISIS.
When confronted with these comments, Tlaib shouted at the reporter that she doesn't speak to Fox News. "At a rally in your district, people were chanting 'death to America,' do you condemn-" Vaughn said before being interrupted with "I do not talk to Fox News."
"But do you condemn chants of 'death to America?'" Vaughn asked. "I don't talk to people who use racist tropes," the far-left Democrat replied. The two then went into a back-and-forth, with Tlaib claiming that Fox uses "racist tropes" against the Muslim-American community. "Is 'death to America' racist? Is chanting 'death to America' racist?" the Fox Business reporter pressed.
"I'm talking about your guys' racist tropes," Tlaib asserted while boarding an elevator. "You know, you guys know exactly what you do, and I know you 'Islamaphobic,' but you guys gotta deal with it on your own selves; you're not gonna use me."
This isn't the first time that Tlaib has refused to comment on a topic related to the ongoing war in Gaza. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, following the October 7 massacre that resulted in the murder of over 1,200 Israelis, Tlaib refused to comment about the atrocity. During the confrontation, which happened just three days after the attack, Vaughn pressed Tlaib on whether Israel had the right to defend itself. However, she remained silent.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib is proving once again that she is beholden to the anti-American radicals in her district who chant "death to America." Her refusal to condemn those remarks proves that she is just as radical as the supporters of Hamas, who compare Israel to ISIS and insist that genocide is currently taking place in the Gaza Strip. As progressive activists continue to push the Democratic Party to the left, more and more Americans will wake up and realize the anti-American fervor that persists underneath.
