Democrat strategist James Carville has had it with young people refusing to back President Joe Biden in November, explaining in a video that the reelection of Donald Trump would lead to there being "no government" and "no rights" left.
"You little f**king 26-year-old, you don't feel like 'the election's important to me. They're not addressing the issues that I care about,'" Carville said. The 79-year-old went on to explain that a recent Harvard Youth poll found that issues like student debt and the ongoing war in Palestine were low on the list of priorities, while housing affordability, high-interest rates, and abortion were top priorities for young people. "My advice to tell these young people is to get off your motherf**king a** and go vote because you should vote like your entire future and the entire future of this United States depends on it because, quite frankly, it does, and that's not an exaggeration."
Carville's comments come after a new CNN poll released on Sunday showed Biden's reelection campaign in trouble as nearly two-thirds of the American public view his tenure as a failure. The poll, conducted from April 18-23 with a margin of error of 3.4 percent, starkly contrasts the public's view of Trump's presidency with that of Biden's. Among the 1212 likely voters surveyed, a significant 55 percent consider Trump's presidency a success, while only 44 percent view it as a failure. In stark contrast, Biden's term is viewed far more pessimistically, with a mere 39 percent agreeing that his term has been successful, while a staggering 61 percent believe it's been a failure.
Those abysmal numbers for the incumbent Democrat don't translate well to the general election. Amongst those surveyed, 49 percent said they would vote for Trump, while only 43 percent said they'd back Biden in November. Eight percent of those surveyed said they were unsure who they would support.
Biden's chances for reelection in a five-way race are even worse, with Trump easily winning the plurality of support from those polled. When independent candidates are included, the poll found that 42 percent would back Trump, 33 percent would support Biden, 16 percent would back independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., four percent support independent candidate Cornel West, and three percent back Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
The Democratic party is panicking about the prospects of another four years of Trump in office because of their unwise decision to back the 81-year-old Biden for a second term. Democrats are stuck with Biden, and his record of failure is drastically impacting their chances, both at the presidential level and down the ballot, to hold onto their power in the upcoming general election.
