WATCH: Donald Trump Unveils New Policy To Bring Manufacturing Back To America

During a rally in Savannah, Georgia, on Tuesday, 45th President Donald Trump unveiled a new economic policy to bring back American manufacturing to revitalize American towns and cities. The new economic policies come as Trump continues to dominate Harris on the economy and after he promised to give benefits to companies that base their manufacturing in America.

The first policy Trump announced at the Savannah rally was to reward US-based manufacturers with expanded research and development tax credits to "write off 100% of the cost of heavy machinery and other equipment in the first year." Under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, businesses, beginning in 2022, have been unable to write off research and development investments in the first year and have instead been forced to gradually write off the costs over a five-year period. "You're going to get full expensing. In other words, you have a one-year write-off," Trump said about the policy.

The Republican presidential candidate also stated that he would appoint a "manufacturing ambassador" to bring factories back to America's shores to ensure American workers get solid middle-class manufacturing jobs. "Finally, to exploit these full manufacturing policies, I will appoint a manufacturing ambassador whose sole task, and it will be a great one, will be to go around the world and convince major manufacturers to pack up and move back to America, where they want to be," Trump said. "For years, we watched other countries steal our jobs. Now we are going to be going after their jobs and bringing them back to America where they belong and where frankly they want to be."

President Trump's economic agenda announcements come after the International Brotherhood of Teamsters refused to endorse Vice President Harris after a majority of its members backed President Trump for office. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the Teamsters leadership was unsatisfied with both candidates' answers to their questions on how they would fight against big business. However, the rank-and-file members were more willing to pick a side. According to an electronic member poll conducted by the organization from July 24-September 15, 59.6 percent of their membership preferred President Trump, while 34 percent preferred Vice President Harris, with 6.4 percent wanting another candidate. A phone poll from September 9-15 found similar findings, with 58 percent preferring Trump, 31 percent preferring Harris, six percent remaining undecided, and five percent saying they didn't know who they would vote for.

President Trump's pro-worker policies will be a boon to the American economy. His proposals to bring manufacturing back to America will help rebuild the middle class and bring about economic prosperity similar to what was seen during his first term in office.
