WATCH: Honor Guard Collapses On Live TV In Front Of Former Supreme Court Justice's Casket

On Monday, an honor guard was seen collapsing while standing guard at the Supreme Court while the late Justice Sandra Day O'Connor lay in repose. The female guard collapsed while CNN was streaming the coverage of the court's Great Hall to thousands of Americans.

In the video, the honor guard could be seen slowly losing consciousness as another guard behind her attempted to hold her upright. Despite his best efforts, his female colleague collapsed, which led to a number of other guards coming to her rescue. As of this report, it is unclear the condition of the collapsed guard is not what caused the sudden loss of consciousness.

The guard was watching over the body of Sandra Day O'Connor, who passed away on December 1. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the first female Supreme Court justice appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1981 died at the age of 93 in Phoenix, Arizona. O'Connor made history as the first female Supreme Court justice to serve on the bench. The Supreme Court announced her death via a letter by explaining that she passed away due to complications from dementia, a battle that first began for O'Connor in 2018.

O'Connor will be lying in repose until 8 p.m. on Monday evening, where her body will then be honored at a funeral service on December 19.
