With just one day to go until the first election contest of 2024, supporters of the leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump are invigorated to get out amid freezing temperatures and prepare for the long-awaited Iowa caucus. Footage from the ground at Simpson College shows hundreds of Trump supporters overflowing an event in Indianola, Iowa, after waiting in lines since early in the morning in below-zero temperatures.
"Trump supporters are in line in the freezing snow in Indianola, Iowa, to see President Trump at his rally today. It's currently -17 degrees (negative seventeen, no, that's not a typo) outside, yet people are still willing to wait in line for hours to see Donald Trump!" Laura Loomer reported. "The Trump campaign is taking care of people in the cold by placing warming busses outside for anyone who needs to warm up. These Iowa voters in line are willingly standing outside because they are excited to Caucus for Trump!"
After coming out to see the 45th president, despite the temperatures, supporters not only packed the initial event venue but also moved hundreds more to outflow rooms to compensate for the large crowd. The event took place just after Trump visited his campaign's headquarters to encourage Caucus captains to get out the vote on Monday. "I just want to thank you all. It's been an incredible period of time, and I think we are going to have a tremendous vote tomorrow," Trump told his supporters. "The big thing, and I say it in every speech, don't sit home even if you think we are winning by a lot, it doesn't matter. You have to get out and vote. And we are really setting the table for November by doing that."
According to the latest poll out of Iowa, the highly respected Des Moines Registrar, President Trump has the support of 48 percent of the Iowa Republican electorate, while former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) has 20 percent, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has only 16 percent, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH) has eight percent.
While President Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary, his supporters aren't going to let the cold stop them from showing up on Monday night. "Our grassroots supporters have put us in a position to win, and now we have to show up to Caucus for President Trump on Monday and get the job done," the Trump campaign said in a statement. "We have to show up."
