WATCH: In Meeting With Netanyahu, Trump Warns World War III Could Erupt If Harris Wins

During a visit from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, 45th President Donald Trump said that the conflict in the Middle East could escalate to World War III if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the White House in November.

"We'll see how it goes. But if it all works out, if we win, it'll be very simple. It's all going to work out. And very quickly," Trump told the press. "If we don't, you're going to end up with major wars in the Middle East. And maybe a third World War. You are closer to a third World War right now than at any time since the Second World War. We've never been so close because we have incompetent people running the country."

The 45th president's comments come after the presumptive Democratic nominee gave the Israeli leader the cold shoulder in Washington, D.C., by boycotting the prime minister's address to a joint session of Congress. During Netanyahu's speech, progressive activists flooded the streets of the nation's capitol and were seen burning the American flag, carrying Hamas flags, and shouting anti-Semitic chants throughout the day.

The next day, Harris condemned the protesters and met with Netanyahu for a 40-minute discussion on the war in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis unfolding amongst the civilian population. Following the meeting, Harris delivered a public statement that has reportedly irked the Israeli leader.

"It is time for this war to end in a way where Israel is secure, all the hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza ends and the Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity and self determination," Harris told the press. "And as I just told Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is time to get this deal done. Let's get the deal done. So we can get a ceasefire to end the war. Let's bring the hostages home. And let's provide much-needed relief to the Palestinian people."

Israel has currently been at war with the terrorist group Hamas since October 7, when a sudden surprise attack led to the murder of over 1,000 Israeli civilians. Amid the Israeli Defense Force's invasion of the Gaza Strip, Iran's other proxies, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, have continued to attack the Israeli population. Iran's military also launched a massive drone attack on the Middle East democracy in April that was thwarted by an international coalition led by the American military.
