WATCH: J.D. Vance DESTROYS CNN Host Following Trump Conviction - 'Politics Masquerading As Justice'

On Friday, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) sent a clear message to the American people that the recent conviction of the presumptive GOP nominee was clearly a political play by Democrats to use the judicial system to interfere in the 2024 election. Trump was found guilty on Thursday of 34 counts of falsifying business records, making him the first president to ever be convicted of a felony.

"Why aren't we talking about inflation? Why aren't we talking about Biden's wide-open southern border? This entire trial was cooked up to distract from Joe Biden's failures," Vance told CNN host Wolf Blitzer. "Let's talk about precedent. He's convicted of a literal paperwork violation. A single paperwork violation, and they drew 34 felonies out of it."

"Now, let's talk about precedents. Six years ago, Hillary Clinton paid $113,000, which was misclassified as a legal expense. That's the exact same thing that Donald Trump is accused of. Hillary Clinton got a slap on the wrist and a fine on the FEC. Donald Trump has had 34 felony indictments. It's so obvious that this is about politics," the Ohio Republican asserted. "I understand the questions here, but we are going to end up in a banana republic where we try to throw people in jail instead of winning an argument on politics. That's not what I want. I don't think that's what you want either."

Vance then explained that the case against Trump had been nothing more than "politics masquerading as justice" and that the judge was clearly biased against the former president. "This judge committed multiple elements of reversible error, and he did it while his daughter made a ton of money off of Democrat candidates and while he donated to the Biden campaign. You cannot say that this trial was anything more than politics masquerading as justice. I will help Donald Trump however I can, Wolf, because if we allow this to happen, it is so much bigger and so much more troubling than Donald Trump. If we allow the standard that you can throw your political opponents in jail because they are doing better than you in an election, it will be the end of this country as we know it."

The American people see right through the Democrats' efforts to use the judicial system to give themselves an advantage in the presidential election. President Joe Biden is one of the weakest incumbents in modern political history, and desperate Democrats are doing everything they can to hold on to power, even going as far as jailing their political opponents.
