J.K. Rowling SLAMS Olympic Boxer Who Failed Gender Test After Demolishing Female Opponent

At the Paris Olympics on Thursday, female boxer Angela Carini, who fought against opponent Imane Khelif of Algeria, was forced to forfeit the fight after just 46 seconds in the ring with Khelif, who failed a gender test, due to repeated blows to the face, which Carini explained were the hardest hits she's ever received. In response to the fight, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, who has been a staunch advocate for women in the United Kingdom, condemned the fight by noting that the "male" smirked after soundly defeating Carini.

"Could any picture sum up our new men's rights movement better?" Rowling asked. "The smirk of a male who's knows he's protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he's just punched in the head, and whose life's ambition he's just shattered."

"The idea that those objecting to a male punching a female in the name of sport are objecting because they believe Khelif to be 'trans' is a joke. We object because we saw a male punching a female," Rowling wrote in a follow-up post, adding that the Head of the Safe Sport Unit at the Olympics is to blame for the fight. "A young female boxer has just had everything she's worked and trained for snatched away because you allowed a male to get in the ring with her. You're a disgrace, your 'safeguarding' is a joke and #Paris24 will be forever tarnished by the brutal injustice done to Carini."

The Algerian fighter has caused controversy in recent days after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed the fight despite Khelif previously failing a gender test that showed the boxer had XY chromosomes, the genetic marker of a biological male. The fighter had previously been barred from international competitions due to a genetic anomaly, with the International Boxing Association (IBA) explaining in a statement that the athlete, alongside Olympic boxer Lin Yu-ting, was disqualified for "their failure to meet the eligibility criteria for participating in the women's competition, as set and laid out in the IBA Regulations."

"Point to note, the athletes did not undergo a testosterone examination but were subject to a seperate and recognized test, whereby the speifics remain confidential. This test conclusively indicated that both athletes did not meet the required necessary eligibility criteria and were found to have competitive advantages over other female competitors," the IBA's statement continues. "For clarification on why the IOC permits athletes with competitive advantages to compete in their events, we urge interested parties to seek answers directly from the IOC."

J.K Rowling has been at the center of controversy in recent years after being an outspoken critic of transgenderism in the United Kingdom. She has been the subject of repeated attacks from left-wing groups and commentators for her pro-women stances, including condemning the implementation of puberty blockers on minors, speaking out about men in women's sports, and advocating for female-only spaces in bathrooms and changing rooms. Her condemnation of the Olympic Committee is just another step in her crusade against the transgender ideology.
