WATCH: JD Vance Attempts To Confront Kamala Harris On The Tarmac In Wisconsin Airport - 'Why Does She Refuse To Answer Questions'

With two competing events in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance (R-OH) attempted to confront Vice President Kamala Harris on the airport's tarmac after Air Force Two landed with Vance's plane, the so-called "Trump Force Two," parked just a few hundred feet away.

Despite being unable to get a one-on-one audience with the vice president, Vance explained that he wanted to "check out my future plane," adding that he "wanted to go say hello to the vice president and ask her why does she refuse to answer questions."

As Harris' motorcade sped away behind him, Vance talked to the press assembled to welcome Harris to Wisconsin. "I figured I'd come by. One, it's a good-looking plane. Hopefully, it's going to be my plane in a few months. I also thought you guys may get lonely because the VP doesn't answer questions from reporters and hasn't for 17 days," the Republican vice presidential nominee said before asking the assembled press: Has she given you guys an explanation why she hasn't taken questions from reporters?"

Before heading to another event, Vance slammed Harris for refusing to take questions from the press and running a "basement" campaign. "Well, I hope that she changes your mind because it would be good for the American people, and I think it would be good for you all if she actually ran a campaign instead of one from the basement and from a teleprompter," Vance said. "I'd love for her to answer what she wants to do and explain why every single position she has has changed."

"She pretends to be a tough-on-crime prosecutor, yet here she is, wanting to defund the police. She's the border czar, but then she opened up the American southern border," he explained. "This is a person who has to answer questions from the media, and it's disgraceful that she runs from you guys. Also, it's insulting to the American people."
