WATCH: JD Vance Destroys MSNBC Reporter After Asking Misleading Question - 'Take A Little Less DNC Talking Points'

During a campaign event in Shelby Township, Michigan, on Wednesday, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance (R-OH) shut down an MSNBC reporter after the man asked a misleading question insinuating that Vance's attack on Kamala Harris that she picked Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) over Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) partly because of his Jewish faith was without evidence.

"You have repeatedly suggested that the only reason that Kamala Harris didn't pick Josh Shapiro to be her running mate is because of his Jewish faith," the MSNBC reporters said before asking, "Do you have any evidence to support that assertion that a person who is married to a Jewish man is somehow antisemitic or bowing to antisemites?"

"Well, I reject the premise of the question. I did not say that that was the only reason that Kamala Harris didn't choose Josh Shapiro, so you should take a little less DNC talking points when you ask your questions and ask a real question," Vance told the reporter. "I have suggested that Kamala Harris was motivated, or at least her party, was motivated by antisemitism, and the evidence that I offer for that is what dozens of Democratic activists said in the run-up to her selecting her nominee."

"There were multiple grassroots activists, multiple media personalities, multiple people with influence in the Democratic Party who suggested that she should not choose Josh Shapiro because of his ethnic background. Look, I don't care what your ethnic background is. I know Donald Trump doesn't care what your ethnic background is," the Ohio senator continued. "I do not want to live in a country where we are choosing who the next VP is because of skin color or ethnic heritage. Choose based on merit, and the fact that so many prominent leaders in the far-left felt empowered to talk about Shapiro's ethnic heritage is a disgrace, and I think it is a scandal for the Democrat Party."

Gov. Shapiro, who was seen by many as the obvious pick for Harris to win the Keystone State, was heavily criticized by progressive groups for his links to Israel, including a volunteer mission during high school and an essay he wrote in college that said that a two-state solution would not be viable. An online campaign against "Genocide Josh" sprung up among some members of Gen Z who view Shapiro far more unfavorably than any other VP contender, according to a new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll.

While Shapiro's Jewish heritage was likely not the sole reason he wasn't chosen to be Harris' running mate, it most likely played a role in her selection to ensure that the progressive activists in her party would not rock the boat just three months away from the general election.
