JD Vance On Dem VP Pick: 'Walz Allowed Rioters To Burn Down Minneapolis...Harris Helped Bail Them Out'

On Tuesday, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance (R-OH) exposed the truth about Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate pick, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), telling reporters that the duo worked hand-in-hand to support the Black Lives Matter rioters that burned down Minneapolis in 2020.

"This is a guy who's proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China, who wants to make the American people more reliant on garbage energy instead of good, American energy, and who proposed defunding the police just as Kamala Harris does," Vance said. "They make an interesting tag team because, of course, Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and the few that got caught, Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail. It is more instructive for what it says about Kamala Harris that she doesn't care about the border, she doesn't care about crime, she doesn't care about American energy, and, most importantly, she doesn't care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies."

Vance expanded on his position during a rally in Philadelphia when he told the crowd that the Harris-Walz ticket is the most radical left-wing presidential duo in the nation's history. The Ohio Republican also asserted that Harris' selection of Walz shows that she "bent the knee to the far left of her party." 

"I think that what it says is that Kamala Harris is running as a San Fransisco liberal, she has governed as a San Fransisco liberal, and she has chosen a running mate who will be a San Fransisco-style liberal," Vance added. Walz's record as governor showcases his progressive priorities, which included signing legislation that allowed sex change surgeries for minors, put restrictive carbon emission standards for gas-powered vehicles, gave driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, raised taxes, allowed men in women's sports, and enforced some of the most restrictive COVID-19 policies in the country.

While Sen. Vance launched multiple attacks against the Democrat vice presidential pick, President Trump seemed to be grateful for Harris' decision. In a post to Truth Social, Trump wrote, "THANK YOU!" in reaction to the Walz pick, and former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway also seemed to be thankful for the choice, writing, "Tim Walz? What a relief."

Vice President Harris' decision to choose Walz as her running mate instead of Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) is a good sign for the Trump campaign. Walz's record resembles the radically progressive policies of the past few years, and it will likely drag down the Democratic ticket in the coming months. Walz also has several personal issues that could make Harris regret her choice, including a DUI in the 1990s and his refusal to deploy to Iraq with his National Guard regimen.
