WATCH: Jill Biden Gingerly Leads Joe Biden Off Stage, Congratulates Him On Answering 'Every Question'

As 45th President Donald Trump triumphantly walked off the stage of the first 2024 presidential debate on Thursday evening, First Lady Jill Biden approached her husband's podium to escort the 81-year-old Democrat from the debate stage as the duo prepared themselves to speak to supporters at the campaign's watch party.

CNN's cameras happened to catch the moment that Jill Biden gingerly led her husband off the stage by his hand down the few steps leading from the podium to the moderator's table. The footage prompted Daily Wire host Matt Walsh to condemn Jill Biden for failing to take care of her elderly husband. "That video should also make you very angry at Jill Biden, who's like the worst wife in America," he said

"Look at DOCTOR Jill Biden having to lead Joe Biden off the stage after the debate. She is guilty of extreme elder abuse. This was shameful to allow and defend," Clay Travis posted on X.

Following the Bidens' departure from the Atlanta venue, the two spoke to supporters at the debate watch party, where Jill Biden congratulated her husband for his performance. "Joe, you did such a great job! You answered every question!" the first lady said. "And let me ask the crowd, what did Trump do? Lie!" Last month, Jill Biden attempted to claim that it was going to be Trump, not her husband, who was not going to be able to "put a sentence together."

"I think the American people deserve a debate because you need to see your choices," First Lady Jill Biden said. "You need to see Trump, and you need to see the president, and you need to see the differences. And my husband's, and you're gonna see how smart he is and the experience he has. And then you'll see somebody who, like you're saying — I'm going to use Joy's words — 'can't put a sentence together, and everything is beautiful and it's wonderful."

While Jill Biden and the Democrats have tried to turn attention away from Biden's performance, the American people aren't buying it. A flash poll conducted by CNN after the debate found that only 33 percent of those surveyed who watched the debate felt that Biden won, while a whopping 67 percent believed that Trump won.

Following his visit to the campaign watch party, Biden traveled to a Waffle House to meet and greet with supporters. When asked by a reporter about his performance, the president dismissed criticism, saying, "No. It's hard to debate a liar. The New York Times pointed out he lied 26 times."
