During his remarks on the "bipartisan" border bill on Tuesday, President Joe Biden explained that the legislation doesn't go far enough in fulfilling a major Democrat priority: giving a path to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens.
"Now, it doesn't address everything I'd like — that I wanted. For example, we still need a path for — of documentation for those who are already here," Biden said. "And we're not walking away from true immigration reform, including permanent protections and a pathway to citizenship for young DREAMers who came here when they were children and who have been good citizens and contribute so much to our country."
The remarks come after there were over one million migrant encounters along the southern border since October 1, a record pace. The disastrous milestone is the earliest point in the fiscal year that Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) have reached the one million encounter threshold.
According to CBP, migrant encounters at the same point last year had only reached 908,000, about 100,000 less than the 2024 fiscal year. The record-breaking pace of immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border was likely spurred by the record-breaking encounters in December that saw 302,000 encounters along the southern border. As reported by the Daily Wire, the Biden administration has allowed for there to be 1,734,686 illegal migrant encounters in 2021, 2,378,944 encounters in 2022, and 2,475,669 encounters in 2023.
When compared to various American cities, one million migrant encounters in less than five months are daunting. Cities like Austin, Texas; Jacksonville, Florida; San Jose, California; and Columbus, Ohio, all have around one million residents, making it easier to visualize the true impact of the humanitarian crisis at the border.
In addition to demanding citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants he has let into the country, Biden also boldly claimed that Trump was the reason why the border was unsecure. "Every day from now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends."
While President Biden may attempt to shift blame away from his administration's greatest failure, the American people realize that the border was secure under Trump. The Senate border bill would be a disastrous sellout of Republican voters, and Trump has rightly spoken out against it.
"Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill, which only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day, when we already have the right to CLOSE THE BORDER NOW, which must be done," Trump wrote on Truth Social in response to the bill. "This Bill is a great gift to the Democrats, and a Death Wish for The Republican Party. It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans. Don't be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form! The Democrats broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

And, first on the list to become citizens will be those lads who beat up those NYC cops. What I would like to know is: when and how did the Democrats (real name- Autocrats) decide that the USA had a shortage of poor people who would be dependent?
