WATCH: Kamala Harris SLAMMED For Incomprehensible Word Salad In First Unscripted Moment Since Becoming Nominee - 'She's A Clown'

After several American hostages landed at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., on Thursday evening after a prisoner swap with Russia, Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden welcomed them home after years of confinement. In one of her first unscripted moments, the presumptive Democrat nominee attempted to highlight the day's significance but gave a repetitive performance mocked by her political rivals.

"This is just an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy and strengthening alliances," Harris said. "This is an incredible day."

In response to the vice president's word salad, a common trait repeatedly mocked but hidden following her ascent to the nomination last week, conservative politicians and pundits said that her lack of detail and depth would begin to impact her poll numbers.

"She's a clown. She may get away with being a clown, but she's a clown nevertheless," National Review's Charles C. W. Cooke wrote. "She can't even deliver two sentences on this extremely simple topic without becoming the cartoon we all know."

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance demanded that journalists begin to hold Kamala accountable and ask hard-hitting questions to inform the American people about the vice president's lackluster leadership skills. "It's amazing that journalists can look themselves in the mirror while letting this person coast to a major party nomination for president. Is anyone going to ask this person a question?" Vance posted, adding in a later post, "Kamala sounds like a third grader giving a book report on a book she didn't read.

A similar sentiment was shared by former Trump advisor Stephen Miller, who, like billionaire Kevin O'Leary did in a recent interview, questioned what actual accomplishments Harris has achieved during her political career. "Kamala is the lowest-rated VP in history. Her sole 'accomplishment' is letting in 15M illegals," he posted. She was installed by donors after receiving zero votes. She can't string ten words together. Hasn't said one unscripted word till now. And the media portrays her as an Olympian deity."

Vice President Harris tried her best to emphasize the importance of one of the largest prisoner swaps since the Cold War, but her explanation fell flat, much like her candidacy, when voters realized that she could not articulate her policy priorities unscripted. The Harris campaign has done its best to shield Harris from media questions and ensure that her only appearances are tightly scripted events that use the teleprompter or, even more absurdly, a podium to deliver a written statement to the press. Kamala Harris is a disaster that is not carefully stage-managed, and her campaign team knows it.
