WATCH: Kevin O'Leary SLAMS 'Wasteland' San Francisco's Progressive Policies - 'It Is Not America Anymore'

During a recent interview with Fox Business, 'Shark Tank' investor and billionaire Kevin O'Leary delivered a scathing critique of San Francisco's progressive policies and governance, warning that the city is rapidly deteriorating into a "wasteland."

"Walk around San Francisco. It is not America anymore. It just isn't," O'Leary said. "What a wasteland. All of these places are shutting down. It is not a partisan argument. When a Walgreens shuts down and a drug store shuts down and a convenience store shuts down, a bodega shuts down, that's nothing to do with whether you're blue or red."

"Don't listen to me. Go try it out. You wouldn't run a convention in San Francisco. You have to take an Uber one block to your hotel, or you get executed," the billionaire investor added. "I think people should start to question who's managing this for me. They work for you. If you're a voter, all of these politicians work for you. San Francisco you can't walk at night. New York is getting like that." O'Leary then explained that you can't wear a watch in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco because they would be stolen.

O'Leary then slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) for increasing the minimum wage from $16 to $20, which has driven small businesses to bankruptcy. Most recently, a McDonald's chain in San Francisco was forced to shut down after operating in the city for 30 years as rising costs and rising rent priced it out of the city. "California is being hollowed out. That's what's occurring. Taxpayers, high-net-worth individuals, businesses, entrepreneurial businesses... they are moving out of that state to places like Tennessee, Texas, and Florida. I don't invest in start-ups in California anymore, and when I do, I've done a few, and we move them out. We move the headquarters out, and we leave some of the employees there, but it's not a place to do business."

The 'Shark Tank' investor then said that California is a "disaster" because of various policy mistakes that have unfolded under Gov. Newsom and city officials. "It's a mistake, it's a Gavin Newsom mistake," he told the Fox host. O'Leary is spot on about the drastic impact of anti-business policies in the state driving out entrepreneurs and investors. Gov. Newsom has driven California into the ground with his anti-growth policies, and residents of the state are leaving in droves. Democrat governance has proven to be more expensive, less efficient, and less safe in nearly any state where it exists.
