WATCH: Megyn Kelly Slams Fox News After Tucker Carlson Departure – ‘Talk About Misreading Your Audience Yet Again!’

On Monday, it was announced that Tucker Carlson will be leaving Fox News with the host’s final show being last Friday, April 21st.

“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox continued in its statement. “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”

In response to this shocking turn of events, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly took to ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ to blast Fox News for its poor decision, arguing that the move was an irreparable error for the network.

“Tucker Carlson is no longer a host for Fox News Channel,” Kelly began. “This is a terrible move by Fox and it’s a great thing for Tucker Carlson. I don’t know what drove Fox News to make this decision and it was clearly Fox News’s decision because they are not letting him say goodbye.”

Kelly went on to explain how Fox made terrible decisions following the 2020 election and panicked by overcorrecting and covering the Dominion claims thus leading to the $787 million defamation case.

She went on to explain that Tucker repeatedly called out those claims, saying, “He was not the reason for that $800 million settlement. So what do they do now in the wake of that settlement? They get rid of Tucker? Talk about misreading your audience yet again!”

“He’s the only reason they watch, a lot of them. Tucker’s the only reason why a lot of people watch Fox News,” the former Fox News host explained, adding that the decision was a management decision given that Tucker expected to be back on the air Monday night.

Kelly then went on to explain that from her own personal experience, she was able to say goodbye to her audience, unlike Carlson.

“I think this is a massive error. I think this is a massive misjudgment of what their audience wants,” she remarked. Kelly then went on to blast Suzanne Scott, Fox News‘s CEO, who she believes should be fired for her misjudgment.

“This is an extraordinary move for a channel that appears to be very worried about its audience,” the former host concluded.
