Wajahat Ali of MSNBC dropped the bar a little lower for civil discourse Sunday when he launched an attack on former South Carolina Governor and 2024 Republican Presidential Candidate Nikki Haley. Ali claimed that Haley, a proud Indian-American daughter of immigrant parents, was leveraging her “brown skin to launder white supremacist talking points.”
Ali made the comments during The Mehdi Hasan Show in reaction to Haley’s campaign announcement video. His comments were shockingly racist to not only Haley but prominent conservatives Dinesh D’Souza and Candace Owens as well whom he compared Haley to unfavorably.
Haley’s campaign launch which has drawn mixed reactions from the public, the pundits, and her primary opponent former President Donald Trump emphasized her family’s journey to America and her love of the country and of South Carolina.
Ali began his rhetorical attack by claiming to be “disgusted” by Haley,
“To quote Zora Neale Hurston, ‘not all skin-folk are kinfolk.’ Nikki Haley instead is the Dinesh D’Souza of Candace Owens. She’s the alpha-Karen with brown skin. And for white supremacists and racists, she is a perfect Manchurian candidate,” he said.

Ali continued, “I’m just disgusted by people like Nikki Haley who know better,” Ali suggested according to The Daily Wire that Haley merely embraced her heritage as a political asset.
“What does she do? Like all these model minorities, which by the way, is the strategy of white supremacy — to use Asians in particular — as a cudgel against black folks.”
The tirade went on, “Instead of pulling us up from the bootstraps and pulling others [up by their] boot[straps], we’re taught to take your boot and put it on the neck of poor Browns, immigrants, refugees, and Black folks.”

Ali also claimed that Haley wouldn’t find true support among Republicans.
“Nikki! They’ll never love you. It ain’t worth it,” he ranted, going on to characterize conservatives as “bigots.”
“They’ll never love you. They’re not nuanced. Bigots don’t care. If you put us all in a lineup, they’re not gonna be like, ‘Oh, you’re the legal one, you’re good’.”
Haley answered this among several other openly racist and sexist attacks on Monday in an appearance with Fox News host Martha MacCallum, telling her she was “unfazed.”
Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina tweeted in response to Ali’s comments,
Gross and racist. What’s wrong with the far left? Last week it was @nikkihaley‘s real name. This week it’s her skin color.
“She uses her Brown skin to launder White supremacist talking points… Uses her brown skin as a weapon…” @WajahatAli said.https://t.co/pelYKtHwIR
