WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Says President Biden Should Be Added To Mount Rushmore - 'Such A Consequential President'

During an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning," former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who was reportedly central to ensuring that President Joe Biden exited the presidential race last month, argued that President Biden should be placed on Mount Rushmore for his accomplishments, joining Presidents George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln on the iconic monument.

CBS host Lesley Stahl pressed Pelosi on whether she actively worked behind-the-scenes to get Biden to exit the race, which Pelosi adamanety denied. "Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside," Stahl said.

"Well, I have never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, so no," Pelosi responded, adding that she never called anybody after being pressed by the host to confirm that she was the leader of the ouster. "I wasn't the leader of any pressure. Let me say things I didn't do. I didn't call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to him, I never called anybody. What I'm saying is I had confidence that the president would make the proper choice for our country, whatever that would be, and I said that. Whatever that is, we'll go with."

"He was in a good place to make whatever decision, top of his game. Such a consequential president of the United States., a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States," Pelosi asserted.

Stahl, clearly surprised by the answer, asked, "Are you saying that he belongs up there on Mount Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?"

"You got Teddy Roosevelt up there, and he is wonderful," the California Democrat said. "I don't say take him down, but you could add Biden."

Pelosi's comments were criticized on social media, with writer Jon Gabriel posting, "Biden will be carved into the back of Mt Rushmore, looking confused and wondering where everyone is." Other users on X posted photoshopped images of Biden facing the wrong way or having a confused face alongside the historic presidents of America's past.

Speaker Pelosi's comments show just how out-of-touch the elites in the Democrat Party are with the average American. President Biden's policies have led to multiple wars overseas, high inflation, a staggering economy, and an uncontrolled open border. His so-called historic presidency will be remembered less for his legislative accomplishments and more for his administration's failures.
