New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has been forced to deal with the consequences of the Biden administration’s open border policies over the past two years, and it appears that Adams is finally at a breaking point with Democrat Party policy priorities.
On Friday, the enraged mayor held a press conference to plead for extra resources from the federal government, saying, “The city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis.”
Adams, who was in Washington D.C. for an event hosted by the African American Mayors Association, has been left dealing with thousands of illegal migrants flowing to his city leading to an excess burden on the city’s resources with taxpayers having to foot the bill for increased social services, as reported The New York Post.
“And none of my folks came to Washington DC to fight for the resources that’s going to undermine every agency in our city,” Adams explained in reference to other NYC officials who have failed to step up.
The Big Apple is seeing at least $4.3 billion in extra expenses due to the influx of migrants to the city. This isn’t the first time, however, that Adams has called upon President Biden to assist the city. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Adams sent a similar message in January when he was only expecting half the cost of what they are now facing.
“We expect more from our national leaders to address this in a real way,” Adams said in January, adding in a radio interview that it would cost billions. “Our price tag could be anywhere from $1.5 to $2 billion. That’s the price tag that we are facing.”

“We have to ask ourselves, where we [were] already dealing with a potential $5, $6 billion budget deficit in the out-years,” Adams continued. “Where does that money come from?”
“That money comes from our schools. It comes from our public safety, our hospitals, our infrastructure, our ACS services, those are our tax dollars that it’s coming from and we got to see an impact in every service we have in the city,” said Adams.
“And that is just inhumane on the part of the national government,” he stated in reference to President Biden’s open border policies. “And I really believe it’s irresponsible, that we have not had a real national response to what’s happening at our border.”
Mayor Adams’ pleas are going on deaf ears. President Biden will not change his open border policy and will continue to ignore the pleas of Democrats who require assistance to deal with the consequences of such policies.
