WATCH: President Trump Makes First Post to Facebook, YouTube in Over Two Years

On Friday, President Donald Trump made a post to his YouTube channel and Facebook page after over two years of being banned from both platforms.

The video, titled “I’M BACK”, is footage from the night of the 2016 election where Trump said, “Sorry to keep you waiting, complicated business. Complicated.”

The 12-second video then transitions to the emblem for Trump 2024 along with a text number, 88022, where supporters can text TRUMP to get more details about his campaign.

Trump’s posting to YouTube and Facebook just comes hours after the president was reinstated on the video platform.

The channel was restored with YouTube’s vice president of public policy Leslie Miller saying that it “is no longer restricted and the ability to upload new content is restored.”

“We carefully evaluated the continued risk of real-world violence, balancing that with the importance of preserving the opportunity for voters to hear equally from major national candidates in the run-up to an election,” Miller explained, as reported by Axios. “This channel will continue to be subject to our policies, just like any other channel on YouTube.”

Trump’s YouTube channel, which boasts over 2.6 million subscribers, was suspended in January 2021 alongside the deletion of some videos by YouTube that the company deemed to have supposedly incited violence. In addition, they also restricted comments on Trump’s videos.

Following this censorious action, YouTube announced a month later that they would remove the restrictions on the 45th president’s account once they determined that “the risk of violence has decreased.”

Now that his social media has been unsuspended, it seems like the Trump campaign is going to be restarting his online campaign to expand the 45th president’s digital footprint.

Trump’s Facebook page, which has 34 million followers, will likely be an asset for the president to reach millions of Americans.

While Trump has continued to stay on his successful social media platform Truth Social, some speculate that he could return to Twitter after Elon Musk unbanned his account. With Trump now posting to his other social media accounts, it certainly is a possibility.
