On Thursday evening, 45th President Donald Trump issued a video announcement after it was revealed that the Department of Justice is indicting the leading Republican candidate for his supposed possession of 'classified' documents that were seized during the Mar-a-Lago raid last year.
The indictment includes seven charges including illegal retention of classified documents, obstruction, and conspiracy. Trump will appear in court on Tuesday in Maimi, Florida.
"I AM AN INNOCENT MAN. THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS TOTALLY CORRUPT," Trump wrote on Truth Social with a video attached. "THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE & A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"
"Very sadly we are a nation in decline and yet they go after a popular president. A president who got more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country by far and did much better the second time in the election than the first. And they go after him on a boxes hoax just like the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax and all the others," Trump said.
"This has been going on for seven years and they can't stop because this is election interference at the highest level. There has never been anything like what has happened. I'm an innocent man, an innocent person," Trump continued.
The president went on to slam President Biden for his failing policies and that the country has completely reversed following the prosperity that he was able to bring about during his first term.
He also emphasized that the only way for the Democrats to stop Trump is to use "warfare for the law" in order to prevent him from getting another four years in office.
"We can't let this continue to go on because it is ripping our country to shreds. We have such big problems and this shouldn't be one of them," the leading Republican candidate said.
He went on to explain that it is a continuation of the various "hoaxes" and "scams" that have been aimed towards him since he became the Republican nominee in 2016.
"We are a failing nation and this is what they do. I am an innocent man. We will prove that again. Seven years of proving it and here we go again," Trump explained. "Very unfair but that's the way it is. I just want to than everybody. We are doing something very special for our country. We are putting America First. I always put America First."
