WATCH: President Trump Tells Dr. Phil He Believes God Saved Him From Assassin's Bullet - 'God Loves Our Country'

On Monday, 45th President Donald Trump sat for a one-on-one interview with "Dr. Phil" McGraw that aired exclusively on the Merit Street network. The one-hour conversation focused on several topics, from the presidential race to Trump's vision for the country. Still, one moment went particularly viral when Trump gave his thoughts about the assassination attempt against him on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, which resulted in a bullet grazing his right ear, the death of supporter Corey Comperatore, and the serious injury of two others.

Trump explained to McGraw that the chances of him turning his head at the last moment to avoid being killed by the assassin's bullet was a 20 million to one chance. "There had to be some great power because you just can't say millions to one. I used to say a million to one. It's much more than that," Trump said, adding that he had to turn right at the right moment to avoid being hit. "It's for about an eight of a second. Out of all the time that we have been on this planet, it is one-eighth of a second. So I shouldn't be with you."

"Is there a purpose? Is there a reason why you think you were spared?" Dr. Phil asked.

"The only reason I can think of is that God loves our country, and he thinks we are going to bring our country back. He wants to bring it back. It's so bad right now what's happening. When you look at crime, the horrible things happening inside our country. It can be solved. It can be solved very quickly. It has to be God. How can you say it's luck when it's 20 million to one? It's just not possible that I was in that position. It's the only position where that bullet would have missed."

After Trump confirmed to Dr. Phil that he believed in God and that God had a hand in saving him on July 13, the host asked if Trump was sparred for a reason. "God believes that, I guess. We'll have to see," Trump responded.

This isn't the first time that Trump has cited God as the one who saved him from death in Butler. During an interview with Elon Musk earlier this month, Trump said that the incident had a profound impact on his faith. "So that was the miracle. That was -- for those people that don't believe in God. I think we got to all start thinking about that. You have to, you know, I'm a believer; now I'm more of a believer, I think," Trump said. "It was amazing that I happened to be turned just at that perfect angle and all because I put down a chart on immigration. I say it was an act of God. It's a miracle that it happened, and I'm honored by it."
