WATCH: Princess Of Wales Kate Middleton Says She's 'Cancer Free' In Heartwarming Video

On Monday, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton announced that she is no longer undergoing chemotherapy six months after announcing that she had cancer. The British royal celebrated the news in a heartfelt video message to thank those who supporter her and reflect on her cancer journey.

"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," the Princess of Wales said in a video shared by Kensington Palace. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."

Kate went on to explain that experience with cancer has been "complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you." The 42-year-old British royal also explained that her experience has brought her perspective on what matters in her life, most importantly her family. "With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything," she said. "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."

The three-minute Kensington Palace video drove this message home with footage of Kate with her husband, William, and her three children - 11-year-old Prince George, nine-year-old Charlotte, and six-year-old Prince Louis.

Middleton has been mostly absent from the public eye as she underwent chemotherapy, but she stated that she looks forward to getting back to doing a couple of public engagements before the end of the year. "Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes," she explained. "I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can."

The Princess of Wales ended her message by thanking those who supported her and vowing to remain side-by-side with those undergoing their own cancer journey. "William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone's kindness, empathy, and compassion has been truly humbling," she said. "To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright."
