WATCH: Residents Of Small Pennsylvania Town Speak Out About Devastating Consequences From Surge Of Haitian Migrants

On Tuesday, conservative writer Nate Hochman published footage to the America 2100 X account highlighting the plight of the residents of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania home to 4,000 residents and about 2,000 newly arrived Haitian migrants. "We're on our way to Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to report on the Haitian migrant crisis. The media won't tell their story—so we will," the America 2100 account posted over the weekend.

Throughout their investigation of the town, Hochman spoke with multiple residents who discussed the drastic impact of the influx of migrants. "I think they are trying to get even interpreters to teach the kids, let alone get to this part," a male resident said.

"They're having a huge problem, I think, with trying to teach. There were 45 Haitians that started kindergarten this year," another resident explained. "Like, one classroom is probably 20 kids, I'm thinking, maybe 25." When asked if the majority of the kindergarten class was Haitian, the residents told Hochman that was correct. "Kids can't advance because the teachers are having to compensate for the kids who can't speak English," the Charleroi man said.

Hochman also spoke with a Charleroi mother who explained that one Haitian student, who is allegedly 20 years old, attacked a 14-year-old girl while on the school bus. "There's been some assaults with some kids on the bus. One student attacked another American child on the bus, and I guess he was like 20," she said. "He told the girl to move, and she said no, and he grabbed her... and wouldn't let her go. They just get on the bus and go to school...The school does nothing about it. People complain all the time...and they do nothing."

President Trump drew attention to the plight of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, during a rally in Tuscon, Arizona, earlier this month. "The small 4,000-person town of Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Charleroi. What a beautiful name. It's not so beautiful now. Has experienced a 2,000% increase in the population of Haitian migrants under Kamala Harris," Trump said. "This is a small town, all of a sudden, they've got thousands of people."

While Charleroi is in a deep-red county that voted for Trump overwhelmingly in 2020, local Republican leaders have criticized Trump's comments about the Haitian migrants. State Senator Camera Bartolotta (R) pushed back on Trump's comments on Facebook, writing, "to try to disparage these hard-working people who have escaped atrocities and who are here LEGALLY to WORK, and pay taxes, and raise their children, and be part of the community, etc. breaks my heart."

"Many of the Haitians in Charleeroi have been here for two or three years already. They escaped horrific events in Haiti, many having to travel/hide in the jungles for months or years," Bartolotta wrote. "For some of these people saying awful things about these Haitian immigrants, I'd ask them what it might've been like for their parents or grandparents or great-grandparents who might have come from another country and spoken a different language."

The borough council president, Kristin Hopkins-Calcek, also criticized Trump's remarks and comments made by GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick. "I don't look kindly at anyone using our town for political gain unless they are willing to offer help," she said, per WPXI. "At this point, we have possibly 325 people who are fighting for their jobs and industry in our town that is at risk, and we have workers from 44 different nationalities who have worked in our industry and town."
