WATCH: Resurfaced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Clip Reveals His True Thoughts About Red America - 'Red State People Are More Likely To Murder You'

On Wednesday, a resurfaced clip from a 2005 IdeaCity speech given by current independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. went viral after the presidential hopeful maligned "red state people," the very same voters that he hopes to court in the upcoming general election.

During the speech, Kennedy argued that Democrat-led states and Republican-led states differ widely on various cultural issues, but he argued that blue states are actually more moral than their conservative counterparts. "These pundits get in, and they posit that the reason that Bush won the election is because we have the red states and the blue states and the red states there is a huge kind of moral war, a culture war going on the in the United States where you have the red states that are more morally robust, and you have the blue states that are kind of degenerate and dissolute. It's not true."

Kennedy then went on to argue that red states were less moral because of higher divorce rates at the time. "Red state people are more likely to murder you, to impregnate your teenage daughter, to commit a violent crime against you...to buy pornography, to buy degenerate video games like Grand Theft Auto," Kennedy said.

In response to the resurfaced clip, many conservative commentators slammed RFK Jr. for his comments, with Donald Trump Jr. writing, "Why are some in "conservative" media giving this left-wing lunatic a free pass? Biden and RFK Jr are competing for who hates us more. Insane!!!" The Make America Great Again Inc X account also shared the clip with the caption, "RFK hates you! He said, 'Red state people are more likely to murder you.'"

"Any 'conservative' or 'Republican' letting this left-wing lunatic come on their platform to whitewash his decades of far-left liberal positions & activism are aiding and abetting Joe Biden," wrote Trump political director James Blair.

Kennedy Jr. has been a formidable candidate in recent months, with some polls showing him getting above ten percent support from the electorate in a general election matchup with President Joe Biden and 45th President Donald Trump. While some conservative voters have been drawn to Kennedy's campaign given his stance on vaccines, the independent candidate is drawing considerably more support from Democrats. RFK Jr.'s left-wing position has been a hallmark of his campaign that has advocated for affirmative action in college admissions, radical environmental policy, unlimited access to abortion, and other traditionally Democrat policy priorities.
