WATCH: 'Squad' Democrat Cori Bush Defeated In Primary - 'All They Did Was Radicalize Me'

On Tuesday, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), the far-left Democrat member of the progressive Squad, lost her primary election to Wesley Bell, a St. Louis County prosecutor who was backed by multiple pro-Israel political action committees, including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Bush, who has a history of anti-Israel comments, was resoundingly defeated by Bell, who secured 51.2 percent of the vote compared to Bush's 45.6 percent. The progressive congresswoman, who made a name for herself as a Black Lives Matter activist in 2014 after the death of Michael Brown, only served two terms in Congress and now joins Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) as the next progressive Democrat to be ousted by a moderate, pro-Israel competitor.

During an interview with The New York Times, Bush declined to call Hamas, the terror organization that killed over 1,000 Israelis on October 7 and took hundreds more hostage, a terrorist organization.

"We were called terrorists during Ferguson," she told The Times. "Have they hurt people? Absolutely. Has the Israeli military hurt people? Absolutely."

"Would they qualify to me as a terrorist organization? Yes. But do I know that? Absolutely not," she said. "I have no communication with them. All I know is that we were considered terrorists, we were considered Black identity extremists, and all we were doing was trying to get peace. I'm not trying to compare us, but that taught me to be careful about labeling if I don't know.

While Bush faced considerable backlash for her anti-Israel comments in recent months, many in her district cared more about the rising crime in St. Louis and access to abortion. "[The war in Gaza is] not a priority for my district, necessarily," Bush admitted.

Following her loss, Bush doubled down on her radicalism, telling a crowd of supporters in St. Louis that "All they did was radicalize me, so now they should be afraid." Bush's progressive radicalism led her to lose her seat as the representative of Missouri's First Congressional District, and her defeat is a warning sign to other progressive Democrats, like Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), whose primary is next week, that their seats aren't safe.
