WATCH: 'The View' Co-Host Joy Behar Says Trump Supporters Are Throwing The Country 'Down The Toilet'

According to 'The View' co-host Joy Behar, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump and his supporters are flushing the country "down the drain" and are dishonoring the service members who fought to keep America free during World War II.

During a portion of their discussion on the 80th anniversary of D-Day on Thursday, Behar spoke about her own trip to Normandy, France, and the impact on her. "When I was there, I had a guide who was French, and I said to him, 'We saved France,' and he said, 'You saved the world,'" Behar said. "That is the most touching thing anybody has ever said to me about this country, and for us to be throwing it down the toilet to a convicted felon, to somebody who was liable for rape, who lies and cheats."

"This guy is neck-and-neck with Biden," she continued, as reported by Fox News. "Today is the day to reflect on what we have in this country and what we could lose very easily if we don't watch it." Behar also went on to claim that Trump disparaged service members during his presidency, something that Trump has repeatedly denied.

"John Kelly, his former chief of staff, said Trump said U.S. service members were 'suckers' and 'losers' for risking their lives. There's nothing in it for them. He refused to visit the graves in France. He didn't want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because, quote, 'it doesn't look good for me.' He criticized Gold Star families. He went against John McCain, who was a hero," the co-host said.

While 'The View' continued to bash President Trump for his allegedly anti-patriotic actions and campaign message, Trump took time on D-Day to honor the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy. While on his personal plane, Trump spoke with multiple D-Day veterans and thanked them for their service. He also took to Truth Social to honor the "immortal heroes."

"Today, we honor the immortal heroes who landed at Normandy 80 years ago," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The men of D-Day will live forever in history as among the bravest, noblest, and greatest Americans ever to walk the earth. They shed their blood, and thousands gave their lives in defense of American Freedom. They are in our hearts today and for all time."

The Trump campaign also posted a video of the 45th president's remarks on the 75th anniversary of D-Day in 2019. "More powerful than the strength of American arms was the strength of American hearts. These men ran through the fires of hell moved by a force no weapon could destroy: the fierce patriotism of a free, proud, and sovereign people," Trump said at the time. "They battled not for control and domination, but for liberty, democracy, and self-rule."
