WATCH: 'Sound Of Freedom' Inspiration Tim Ballard Exposes Child Trafficking Rings In Ukraine, Recounts His Efforts To End Them

On Wednesday, Tim Ballard, the man that the hit movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ is based, talked about the work that he has been doing as of late in Ukraine to shut down a child sex trafficking ring in the European country.

Ballard spoke on 'Real America’s Voice' alongside host Jack Posobiec to discuss the increase in human trafficking that has taken place in Ukraine since the start of its war with Russia. He discussed kids that weren’t just being taken from the organization that he works alongside but also other organizations, specifically mentioning Mel Gibson informing him of orphans that went missing in the warring state.

Ballard recalls initially being hesitant about going into Ukraine, saying, “There’s Russian missiles dropping,” which would prevent him from being able to do his anti-human trafficking work in Ukraine. 

Even with his apprehension, Ballard got into contact with another organization and ran extraction operations in Ukraine. He said that they were able to locate “6,000 women and children” inside of the Eastern European nation for extraction. 

He also explained how the current crisis in Ukraine is what human traffickers refer to as “harvest time,” a time of turmoil such as war, natural disasters, or political unrest, where the organizations are more easily able to get children into the ring. They take advantage of the children losing their parents or guardians as an opportunity to lure the children easily in with simple necessities and then fully integrate them into their rings from there. 

“We tapped into an organization, a criminal organization, while we were in Ukraine. This is a pedophile group– they were all fugitives out of Holland. They set up a political party there. It’s called the PNVD, it’s basically the party of– party of love and freedom, they use some terms,” Ballard said, recounting what happened. “Well, then, they ended up fleeing justice because they were arrested and charged. They reared their ugly heads during the Ukraine war because they’re trying to get kids. Now they’re hiding in Mexico, they’re hiding in Latin America.”

Posobiec then asked for clarification if the operations source the kids in Ukraine but then run the operation out of Latin America to which Ballard confirmed that is the case sometimes. 

The Ukraine operation ended with Ballard and his group being able to dismantle a “child sex hotel” in Ecuador that was run by the people who fled from Ukraine. He highlighted how transnational the entire operation was and the different countries and hurdles that had to be gone through to break it all up. 

‘Sound of Freedom’ provides a glimpse into the life of what goes on behind the veneer of society but Ballard shows just how corrupt every facet can be. The fact that there are individuals taking advantage of a multinational conflict to bring children into sex trafficking is utterly depraved but the sad reality that we are being faced with is not just a singular nation but as the whole world.
