WATCH: Trump Calls For Required Presidential Mental Competency Test: ‘I Aced Mine, Would Love To Take It Again’

On Monday, in a video posted to his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social, 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump called for all people running for the office of the president of the United States to be required to take a “full and complete” mental competency test.

“In my mind, anybody running for the office of President of the United States should agree to take a full and complete mental competency test simultaneously or before with the announcement that he or she is running,” Trump said.

“And likewise, but to a somewhat lesser extent, agree to a test which would prove that you are physically capable of doing the job as President. Being an outstanding President requires great mental equity and physical stamina and strength,” Trump added.

“If you don’t have these qualities or traits, it is likely that you will not succeed and you will disappoint the entire world, let alone our own country. We need to make America great again. Take a competency test,” Trump continued.

“Let’s see whether or not these people that are running for office are competent. I took the test two years ago and I aced it. And I’d love to take it again because I think I’d even do better. Somebody running for President where 350 million people are relying on you. They’re relying on your brain. They’re relying on your competence,” Trump said.

“I think taking a competency test would be a good thing. Thank you,” Trump added.

In an interview with CNN that aired last Monday, First Lady Jill Biden reacted to Trump’s calls for a mental competency test, saying, “We would never even discuss something like that.”

“How many 30-year-olds could travel to Poland, get on the train? Go nine more hours, go to Ukraine, meet with President (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy? So, look at the man. Look what he’s doing. Look what he continues to do each and every day.” she said of her husband, President Joe Biden, who is the nation’s oldest President.
