WATCH: Trump Humiliates ABC Reporter After Opening With 'Horrible' Question At Black Journalism Conference

On Wednesday, Republican nominee Donald Trump joined the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) for a Q&A in Chicago. After NABJ delayed the event for 30 minutes due to audio difficulties, Trump deemed the first question by ABC News reporter Rachel Scott "horrible." The Q&A was hosted by ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott, Fox News's Harris Faulkner, and Semafor reporter Kadia Goba.

After taking the stage, Scott, without greeting the president, said, "I want to start the elephant in the room, sir. A lot of people did not think it was appropriate for you to be here today. You have pushed false claims about some of your rivals, from Nikki Haley to former President Barack Obama, saying that they were not born in the United States, which is not true. You have told former congresswomen of color, who were American citizens, to go back to where they came from. You have used words like 'animal' and 'rabid' to describe black district attorneys. You have attacked black journalists, calling them a 'loser,' saying the questions that they ask are 'stupid' and 'racist.' You've had dinner with a white supremacist at your Mar-a-Lago resort. So, my question, sir, now that you are asking black supporters to vote for you, why should black voters trust you after you have used language like that?"

"Well, first of all, I don't think I've been asked a question so...in such a horrible manner first question. You don't even say, 'Hello, how are you?' Are you with ABC? Because I think they are a fake news network, a terrible network. I think it's disgraceful that I came here in good spirits. I love the black population in this country. I've done so much for the black population for this country," Trump said, citing Sen. Tim Scott's (R-SC) opportunity zones and his support of historically black colleges and universities. "I think it is a very rude introduction. I don't know why you would do something like that."

"She was very rude. She didn't ask me a question. She gave me a statement," Trump added later when responding to another question.

The panel, plagued by repeated audio issues that forced the reporters to repeat their questions multiple times, was significantly delayed, leading to Trump criticizing the reporters for being unprepared. "For you to start off a question and answer period, especially when you are 35 minutes late because you couldn't get your equipment to work, in such a hostile manner, I think is a disgrace." Trump also took to Truth Social to express his dissatisfaction with the organizers, writing, "I've been waiting for a half hour. The speaker equipment at the NABJ is not working properly. Don't blame me for being late!"
