On Sunday, Trump lawyer Alina Habba joined Fox News to discuss the growing number of indictments and court cases being brought against leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump.
Trump is facing four indictments including one from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), two from Special Counsel Jack Smith, and one from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D). Each of these indictments will come with lengthy court battles that will stretch into the 2024 presidential race.
When asked about the growing weight of these indictments on Trump, Habba explained that the former president knows that he did nothing wrong and that this is a coordinated effort to stop him from running for president.
"What you just displayed I think says it all," Habba said in reference to a graphic showing the dates of each court case. "That is all intentional. That is exactly what they wanted to do. There is very much a coordinated effort and if you ever doubted just think about how Fani, when she was asked at her press conference if she was coordinating with Jack Smtih and DC and the government, she couldn't give us a yes or no. That says it all."
"We know this is intentional. We're not concerned because we know the facts in these cases. It's definitely political. The motivation is now under investigation for Fani and I believe Jack Smith should be investigated as well," the Trump lawyer explained, adding that it is clear given that they "intentionally waited" to bring the cases now when he is leading the Republican primary.
When asked how difficult it would be to prepare Trump for these cases when he is running for president, Habba explained that Trump isn't a "normal person."
"President Trump is not your average person," Habba explained. "He is incredibly intelligent and he knows the ropes and he also knows the facts because he lived them. These are not complicated facts, look at Fani. It was a phone call. A phone call that has been around forever, that he refers to as the 'perfect phone call.' What is he going to have to be prepped for? The truth? You don't have to prep much when you've done nothing wrong so that I am not concerned with."
The Trump attorney also explained that the trial dates will move given how much they overlap and the fact that each case will go on for multiple months.
