WATCH: Trump Reveals Mark Zuckerberg Called Him After Assassination Attempt, Says He's Abandoning Democrats

During a Fox News interview on Friday morning, Republican nominee Donald Trump revealed that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Instagram and Facebook, called him after the attempted assassination attempt on July 13 to check in on the 45th president and express his respect for Trump's courage. Trump also explained that Zuckerberg called him again after Facebook's artificial intelligence accidentally censored the iconic image of Trump following the shooting to apologize for the error.

"So, Mark Zuckerberg called me. First of all, he called me a few times," Trump said. "He called me after the event and he said, 'That was really amazing. It was very brave.' And he actually announced he's not going to support a Democrat because he can't because he respected me for what I did that day. I think what I did, to me, it as a normal response."

"I was called by Mark Zuckerberg yesterday, the day before, on this same subject and he actually apologized. He said they made a mistake, et cetera. Nobody called from Google," Trump said, referencing recent instances of the Google search engine censoring Trump's assassination and pulling up results for Kamala Harris when users searched Trump's name.

In a statement to Fox News, Meta explained that the censoring of the iconic image wasn't done on purpose but instead to combat other false images. "This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the Secret Service agents smiling, and in some cases, our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo," a Meta spokesperson explained. This has been fixed, and we apologize for the mistake."

In recent months, Silicon Valley CEOs, including Elon Musk, David Sacks, Peter Thiel, Tyler, and Cameron Winklevoss, have increasingly supported Donald Trump. Mark Zuckerberg has begun to change his tone regarding the former president after he supported Democrats in the 2020 election by funding ballot drop boxes in swing states. In a previous interview, Mark Zuckerberg described the iconic image of Trump raising his fist in the air following his assassination attempt as "one of the most badass things I've ever seen."

The influx of Silicon Valley money into the Trump campaign has bolstered the campaign's coffers and allowed many in the California elite to express their views on politics and back the more pro-business candidate in the presidential race. Zuckerberg's recent phone calls with Trump could indicate that the social media founder is having a change of heart.

No matter what Zuckerberg says or does, he can never atone for helping his fellow Commies rig and steel the 2020 election from President Trump. But I might cut him some slack if his plane were shot down over New Guinea and he ended up being eaten by cannibals!
