WATCH: Trump Serves Meals To Texas Police, National Guard Defending Border - 'Man Of The People'

On Sunday, leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump traveled to Edinburg, Texas, to meet with Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and the men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard who are protecting the southern border as a part of Operation Lone Star. During the visit, President Trump took to a food line to serve meals to those present.

Trump's visit to the Lone Star State comes after years of the Biden administration orchestrating open borders and the state of Texas attempting to use its powers to protect its sovereignty and citizens. Given the stark circumstances, Gov. Abbott is expected to endorse Trump for the Republican nomination given his strong record on enforcing America's border with bold policies like the Remain in Mexico policy, the border wall, and other instrumental programs that secured America's southern flank.

Trump endorsed Abbott in 2021 when the Texas governor faced multiple primary challenges from conservative Texans. Trump's nomination led to Abbott winning the party's nomination and defeating former Democrat presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke by double digits. Given Trump's endorsement of Abbott in his re-election to a third term, the governor appears to be returning the favor.
