On Monday, 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump told Newsmax’s Greg Kelly in an interview on Monday he is “shocked” by the news of Fox News suddenly announcing they are “parting ways” with their top-rated opinion anchor and commentator Tucker Carlson and his show Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“Well I’m shocked. I’m surprised. He’s a very good person and a very good man. Very talented as you know. He had very high ratings. We’re just learning about this almost as we speak. I don’t know if it was voluntary or somebody fired. Tucker’s been terrific, especially over the last year or so. He’s been terrific to me,” Trump said.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” a press release reads.
“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” the statement adds.
TUCKER CARLSON FOR VICE PRESIDENT? FORMER FOX NEWS HOST FLOATED AS VP PICK AFTER DEPARTURE
In April 2020, Carlson’s show was the highest-rated primetime cable show with a massive audience of 4.56 million.
“Fox fires @TuckerCarlson five days after he crosses the red line by acknowledging that the TV networks pushed a deadly and ineffective vaccine to please their Pharma advertisers,” Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr reacted to the news on Twitter in a tweet on Tuesday.
“Carlson’s breathtakingly courageous April 19 monologue broke TV’s two biggest rules: Tucker told the truth about how greedy Pharma advertisers controlled TV news content and he lambasted obsequious newscasters for promoting jabs they knew to be lethal and worthless,” he added.
“For many years, Tucker has had the nation’s biggest audience averaging 3.5 million — 10 times the size of CNN. Fox just demonstrated the terrifying power of Big Pharma,” he continued.
